An accessible desk gives a wheelchair user enough knee clearance and a work surface at the right height. Height-adjustable desks go a step further, because one desk can be set for the student using it.
The 2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design set accessible work surfaces between 28" and 34" above the floor, with knee clearance at least 27" high and 30" wide. Surfaces for children ages 5 to 12 can sit lower, between 26" and 30". Check each product page against your room, and call (215) 259-5300 if you want help matching a desk to a student.
