Most of a school esports program's students will never make the competitive roster, and that is where the media side earns its budget. Broadcasting, production, graphics and social coverage are roles that fit far more students than a five-player lineup does, and they map onto real career pathways. The Spectrum Esports Guidebook lists shoutcasting, video editing, graphic design and content creation among the career opportunities a scholastic program opens up, and notes that programs positioned under Career and Technical Education access the most stable funding.
These are HamiltonBuhl kits, supplied complete rather than assembled from parts, which is what makes them practical for a teacher or coach who is not an AV specialist.
The On-Air! Podcast Kit is the straightforward entry point for a program that wants to start a show or a match recap. The XLR Content Creation Toolkit #2 includes an XLR microphone and suits students producing recorded content. The Media Production Studio Ultra Interview Kit #3 is built around interview work, which covers post-match segments and player features. The Esports Media Production Ultra-Deluxe Studio Kit with XLR Microphone is the fullest configuration in the range.
Kit contents differ, so check the individual product pages for what each one includes before you commit. If you need a specific combination, call us and we will confirm what is in each kit against your list.
Production work needs a place to happen. The Spectrum Esports Ideabook treats the streaming and production environment as its own zone, separate from the player row and the broadcast desk, and it needs surface space, power and somewhere reasonably quiet. An interview position wants a small table and an extra chair for guests. Plan that space at the same time as the kit, because a kit with nowhere to set up tends to stay in its case.
If you are building a funding case, media production is the strongest CTE argument in an esports program. It ties into existing broadcasting and media courses, shares equipment with computer science and CTE departments, and connects to Perkins CTE funding, which the guidebook identifies as the most sustainable route because it is formula based rather than one-time. Both the guidebook and ideabook go into this in more detail and both are free.
The commentary position itself is covered by our esports shoutcaster stations, including LED lighting and logo panels. Monitor arms and power modules are in esports accessories. For general classroom AV, see AV carts and makerspace, STEM and STEAM equipment. The full range is in esports gaming furniture.
