Computer & Task Chairs

Task chairs for offices, labs, and classrooms

A task chair is the everyday working chair: it swivels, rolls, and adjusts to the person sitting in it. This collection covers task and computer chairs for office workstations, computer labs, and classrooms, from Office Star, KI, Marco, Regency, and Scholar Craft.

How to choose a task chair

• Hours of use. Seats at dispatch, security, and reception desks are shared around the clock. The 24/7 High Intensity Use task chairs are made for that schedule. Standard task chairs suit one person on a normal workday.
• Back style. Mesh backs, like the Harrison series, and AirGrid backs let air circulate on long days. Upholstered backs give a softer feel.
• Arms. The Harrison comes armless, with fixed curved arms, or with height-adjustable arms. Armless chairs tuck under tables in tight computer labs.
• Student use. Marco's MG1100 and Apex gas lift chairs and the Solid Plastic Star Chair are made for classrooms, with pneumatic height adjustment and five-star bases. KI tests the Strive back through one million flexes, eight times the BIFMA standard.
• Floors. Replacement soft wheel casters and floor glides are sold in sets of five, so you can match a chair to the floor it sits on.

Task chair FAQ

What is the difference between a task chair and an office chair?

A task chair is one type of office chair: a swiveling, height-adjustable chair made for desk work. Office chairs also include executive, conference, and guest seating.

Are task chairs a good fit for computer labs?

Yes. Pneumatic height adjustment lets each student set the seat to the table, and armless models slide under the worksurface between sessions.
